FARNET SCHOOLS - TECH ANGEL LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME
Rationale: Each FarNet school has video conferencing equipment which provides for online classes, meetings, specialist experts and PD to be accessed. Schoolzone is the internet provider for each FarNet school, which provides an online environment. To encourage staff in our schools to be fully utilizing these tools, they require on-going and on-site support. The tech angels leadership programme will provide this “on-site support” at the “just-in-time” stage for teachers and students.
Schools will be able to use this programme to demonstrate their use as part of their GATE programme and to develop leadership in these young students. I envisage that they will become mentors for the programme through their future years at school which will make the programme and support sustainable.
This programme will be instrumental in achieving our FarNet Goal Two: Create a sustainable online teaching and learning portal through Schoolzone’s MySuite (MyClasses, MyDesktop, Mymail and MyPortfolio) for all nine schools
